Catholic Schools Week

This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: A+ for America” which celebrates that Catholic Schools add great value to our nation. With our high academic standards and graduation rates, supported by strong moral values, we’re making a significant contribution to American society. During the week we will celebrate the role of our school in our parish, in our community, in our nation, in our volunteers and staff, in our vocations, and in our students.

We have planned an activity for each day.

Sunday, January 30

In Our Parish
Students and teachers will participate in the 9AM liturgy. Following the liturgy there will be Coffee Hour and Open House 10-12AM in the school hall. We invite our parishioners to visit the school. This is our opportunity to thank you for all your support over the years. We also invite those who are interesting in enrolling in the school to come and meet the teachers and learn about the various programs offered.

Monday, January 31

In Our Community
Students write thank you letters to those whose support of the school has been so instrumental in its success. Students also share news about the school in letters to senior citizens, especially those who are shut-in or are ill. If you know of someone who would enjoy receiving a letter from a student, call the school @ 781-643-9031

Tuesday, February 1

In Our Volunteers
Parent Classroom Visitation            8:15-9:15
Volunteer Recognition Assembly  10:00

A Catholic Education is based on four key principles:
Faith:  Connecting to the divine spirit that resides in each of us.
Knowledge:  Understanding the world in which we live
Discipline:  Instruction and learning in accordance with rules
Morals:  Developing character based on the distinction between right and wrong.

Wednesday, February 2 (Half Day)

In Our Nation
As in the past, the students continue to help the homeless in our nation.
This year we are participating in Operation Sock Drop in conjunction with Friends of Boston’s Homeless. If you would also like to participate, all you need to do is donate at least one brand-new pair on men’s or women’s socks (wool or cotton tube socks). Underwear/ undershirts in L, XL, and XXL are also greatly needed. You can drop them off at either the school or parish center.

Thursday, February 3

In Our Vocations
Classes participate in a Career Day. Guests are invited to the classroom to discuss what is involved in a particular career and how they prepared for it.

Friday, February 4

In Our Students
Today, we recognize students who have made a special contribution to the school community.  As a special treat, students will attend a movie (K-4 in the morning and K-5 in the afternoon)
